2010/11 Match Notes & Ratings

1-3 v Bolton Wanderers (h) 21st August 2010
by Gordon Thrower

Looked quite good, though not capable of lasting the full 90 just yet. Nice to see us playing with some width for a change.

2009/10 Match Notes & Ratings

0-1 v Stoke City (h) 27th March 2010
by East Stand Martin

Had a good first half although there was perhaps too much of a tendancy to come inside his man instead of using the width. Injured, again.

1-2 v Bolton Wanderers (h) 6th March 2010
by Gordon Thrower

(Replaced Faubert, 47 mins) A couple of tricky runs but guilty of missing a chance or two.

0-3 v Manchester United (a) 23rd February 2010

(Replaced Diamanti, 75 mins) Featured for the final quarter-of-an-hour, the fact he actually played must be considered a bonus.

0-4 v Manchester United (h) 5th December 2009
by Gordon Thrower

(Replaced Kovac, 67 mins) Barely registered, though it was nice to get a reminder of what he looks like.

1-3 v Bolton Wanderers (a) 22nd September 2009
by Hammer John

Started well, but faded.

2-3 v Liverpool (h) 19th September 2009
by Gordon Thrower

(Replaced Diamanti, 65 mins) Some good touches and one potentially devastating run. Let’s hope that hasn’t set him back a few more weeks.

0-0 v Blackburn Rovers (a) 29th August 2009
by East Stand Martin

(Replaced Jimenez, 66 mins) Not involved a great deal.

2-0 v Wolverhampton Wanderers (a) 15th August 2009
by Andy Stansfield

Good to see him start – showed some nice touches.

2-0 v Beijing Guoan (n) 31st July 2009

Our liveliest player on the park. With a little more composure he would have had a goal to boast about too.

2008/09 Match Notes & Ratings

2-1 v Middlesbrough (h) 24th May 2009
by Gordon Thrower

(Replaced Noble, 54 mins) Looked lively when replacing Noble. A good injury-free pre-season and who knows.

0-1 v Chelsea (h) 25th April 2009
by Gordon Thrower

A welcome start but he seemed uncertain in the middle as if he wasn’t quite sure whether he should be holding or pushing on. Ended up doing neither. Should have scored in the first half.

2-0 v Sunderland (h) 4th April 2009
by Gordon Thrower

(Replaced Di Michele, 81 mins) Looked sharp on his home return and did enough to suggest that a recall to the starting line-up might not be too far away.

1-1 v Blackburn Rovers (a) 21st March 2009
by Gordon Thrower

(Replaced Di Michele, 82 mins) Looked hungry in the10 minutes or so he was on. How he wasn’t awarded a penalty only Foy’s analyst will know.

3-1 v Fulham (h) 18th January 2009
by John Simkin

(replaced Di Michele, 87) No comments.

2-2 v Newcastle United (a) 10th January 2009
by Gordon Thrower

(replaced) Good to see him back even if he did appear to be limping a bit at the end of his 20 minutes or so. Nearly scored too.

3-0 v Barnsley (h) 3rd January 2009
by Gordon Thrower

2007/08 Match Notes & Ratings

2-1 v Bristol Rovers (a) 28th August 2007
by Graeme Howlett

Started brightly again; the injury - which will keep him out for months - is an absolute sickener.

1-1 v Wigan Athletic (h) 25th August 2007
by East Stand Martin

A bit of pace but didn’t add as much width as I’d have liked to have seen on the right.

1-1 v Wigan Athletic (h) 25th August 2007

1-1 v Wigan Athletic (h) 25th August 2007
by Jacob Steinberg

A promising display - he looks like he needs more match fitness. Likes to move inside which meant we struggled for width.

1-0 v Birmingham City (a) 18th August 2007
by East Stand Martin

Did enough to suggest he might be a useful acquisition but lack of time with his new team-mates was all-too apparent.
