Position: Defender - on loan
Born: 18th Feb 1983, Stockport
Signed: 5th Jul 2006 (£1900000)

2006/07 Match Notes & Ratings

0-2 v Newcastle United (h) 17th September 2006
by Gordon Thrower

Battled gamely but was clearly not 100% fit following his illness.

0-2 v Newcastle United (h) 17th September 2006
by Nick Bull

Did ok, at times his best performance in a West Ham shirt. Sadly, lack of tracking back allowed Duff too much space for the opening goal.

0-2 v Newcastle United (h) 17th September 2006
by East Stand Martin

A decent effort, especially when taking into consideration the fact that he shouldn't have started due to illness.

0-2 v Newcastle United (h) 17th September 2006
by Jacob Steinberg

Average and poor distribution. Did ok against Duff, but not a patch on PaIntsil at the moment.

0-1 v Palermo (h) 14th September 2006
by East Stand Martin

Solid enough defensively but failed to add enough going forward in the way that a fit Pantsil might have done.

0-1 v Palermo (h) 14th September 2006
by Gordon Thrower

0-1 v Palermo (h) 14th September 2006
by Nick Bull

Energetic, but poor going forward. Conceded possession too cheaply at times.

1-1 v Aston Villa (h) 10th September 2006
by Gordon Thrower

Uncomfortable at times his distribution certainly needs working on. Incredible work for the clearance though.

1-1 v Aston Villa (h) 10th September 2006
by Nick Bull

The manager has been aware that his crossing needs to improve. A lot of fans are as well informed now. Great save to stop Petrov from putting Villa 2-1 up.

1-2 v Liverpool (a) 26th August 2006
by Nick Bull

(Replaced Konchesky, 81) Found space on his unfavoured left-side.

1-2 v Liverpool (a) 26th August 2006
by Gordon Thrower

(Replaced Konchesky, 81) Did ok on the wrong side when replacing Konch.

3-1 v Charlton Athletic (h) 19th August 2006
by Nick Bull

Not a bad debut at all. Did not get too many chances to show his defensive abilities, but going forward looked promising.

3-1 v Charlton Athletic (h) 19th August 2006
by Gordon Thrower

A good half defensively and possibly unlucky to be replaced at half time. Looks to have a bit of a shot on him. Promising.

3-1 v Charlton Athletic (h) 19th August 2006
by East Stand Martin

A decent debut for the former Preston man.

1-1 v Olympiakos (h) 12th August 2006
by Graeme Howlett

A solid enough home debut. Let the battle between him and John Paintsil (and possibly John Spector too?) commence ...
