Sintra the groove

KUMB's inaugural Daily Telegraph fantasy league competition has been won by Phil Sandy's 'Sintra' - although a strong challenge at the death from 'Rio's Academy' meant the result went right to the wire.

At the end of a long and gruelling season just 45 points seperated the two teams, with Sintra coming out top with a grand total of 1,301 points.

That final total meant Phil finished 22,442nd in the overall national league. But for a drop in form in the latter part of the season 'Sintra' - who were in the top 200 overall at one point - could have fared even better.

Romford's Royals completed the top three finishing on 1,213 points - 88 behind 'Sintra'.

And we can't help but give a special mention to our very own Gordon Thrower whose 'Athletico Gnome' finished bottom of the KUMB pile with a paltry 844 points - some 180,000 places behind 'Sintra' in the overall table! Still, there's always next year ...

So KUMB's congratulations go out to Phil and his 'Sintra' team - if he can contact us we have a winners medal awaiting!
