No deal for Harley

Filed: Saturday, 17th April 2004

Alan Pardew has confirmed that on-loan full-back Jon Harley will not be joining the Hammers on a permanent basis.

Pardew, speaking in the Coventry post-match press conference this evening revealed that Harley will be returning to Fulham tomorrow, following the expiry of his three-month-long loan spell.

Harley, who joined the Hammers midway through January started his Hammers career in spectacular style, scoring what remains a contender for goal of the season in the 3-3 draw with Sheffield United.

However his later performances failed to match that early success, and after making 16 appearances for the Hammers he returns to West London, despite being told by Fulham that he can leave on a free transfer when his contract expires in the summer.
