Double scoop for Etherington in KUMB annual awards

Midfielder Matthew Etherington has - perhaps unsurprisingly - been voted KUMB's Player of the Year by our army of readers.

Pacy winger Etherington emulated his club award and KUMB writers award by taking 46% of your votes ahead of striker David Connolly who came in as runner-up with 31%. Both players were signed at the start of the season by the now departed Glenn Roeder.

Etherington made it a double scoop by taking the Best Signing category - also ahead of David Connolly. Meanwhile, the Young Player of the Year award went to Chris Cohen, who made his breakthrough to the first team earlier this season.

Our one-ff award for Most Missed Player went to Paolo Di Canio, who finished ahead of last year's KUMB Player of the Year, Joe Cole.

Etherington wasn't the only player to scoop a double in this years gongs; poor Wayne Quinn also weighed in with a pair, winning both Worst Player and Worst Signing categories.
