Hammers boss Glenn Roeder said of the move:

"We've given Titi the opportunity to go to Saudi Arabian club Al Ittihad; I'm glad he took it because he needs first-team football."

Whereas Camara - whose contract at Upton Park expires in the summer of 2004 - said:

"I was sidelined in the latest league fixtures at West Ham only to comply with the manager's technical choices.

"I came here searching for a new challenge. I am aware Al-Ittihad boast a reservoir of talented strikers up front, but am also sure of my own capabilities.

"I have vast experience to put at the disposal of the side when needed."

And a vast waistline to go with it, judging by recent appearances ...
