West Ham recorded a fourth home Premiership win courtesy of Teddy Sheringham's third goal of the campaign at the Boleyn Ground this afternoon.
Veteran Sheringham's 56th minute strike was enough to earn the Hammers all three points in a game delayed by some 15 minutes by an accident on the A13.
The 39-year-old cooly slotted home a Tomas Repka free-kick - via the head of substitute Christian Dailly - at the far post to send the Hammers into eighth place in the table.
West Ham enjoyed the better of a tight first half despite good chances falling to both sides.
Teddy Sheringham, Hayden Mullins and Yossi Benayoun all spurned good opportunities to give the Hammers the lead; Sheringham volleying over from close range, Hayden Mullins missing a sitter and Benayoun having a effort scrambled off the line following an initial effort by Marlon Harewood.
Chief danger at the opposite end was Kamara, who wasted two good chances - the clearest being a free header from no more than six yards out which he aimed directly at West Ham's stand-in goalkeeper Shaka Hislop.
The Hammers were far more defensive after the break after losing both Nigel Reo-Coker and Shaka Hislop to injury but still did enough to record a vital win - despite a late onslaught by the visitors.
We'll have a full match report for you soon.
