West Ham United face a sticky trip to second division Chesterfield in the second round of this season's Worthington Cup competition, after the draw was made earlier today.

Mid-table Chesterfield made the second round courtesy of a 1-0 win at Grimsby last week; former Oldham striker Mark Allott scoring the injury time winner.

It will be the first meeting between West Ham and the Spireites since they met in the same competition (known back then as the Cup) back in 1993, when the Hammers won a two legged affair 7-1 on aggregate; West Ham winning 5-1 (with goals from Burrows, Chapman (2) and Morley (2)) at the Boleyn before following that with a 2-0 success (Jeroen Boere and Martin Allen) at the Recreation Ground a fortnight later.

Ticket details are set to be announced shortly, although spaces for away fans will be few and far between in a stadium with a capacity of just under 9,000. Call Chesterfield's box office on 01246 209765 for more details.

All ties will be played in the week starting Monday, 30th September.
