All change - again - at Upton Park

Whilst most eyes are firmly focused on the contrasting fortunes of Sven Goran Eriksson's England team in the Far East during the month of June the home of West Ham United FC - Upton Park - is undergoing some further dramatic development of its own.

At the end of last season the club announced that the Upton Park pitch was being raised by some four inches to comply with FA regulations. As a result the front six rows of the Bobby Moore Stand were removed in order to accomodate the freshly laid pitch.

It is still very much a case of 'work in progress' at the ground with not one single blade of grass to be seen! Yet the club maintain that all will be ready in time for the opening home game of the 2002/03 Premiership season - the visit of league champions Arsenal.
