West Ham captain Nigel Reo-Coker has been forced to withdraw from the England World Cup squad.

Reo-Coker's chances of playing in the World Cup were dashed after he suffered an injury to his back in training last week - and finally confirmed officially earlier today.

West Ham now have no players in the England squad, although Shaka Hislop (Trinidad) and Lionel Scaloni (Argentina) are both set to represent the Hammers in Germany.

* Reo-Coker's standby spot has been taken by Everton's Phil Neville.
