Alan Curbishley has denied reports suggesting that Lee Bowyer walked out of the ground prior to kick off.
Bowyer was omitted fromn the 16-man squad that lost 2-1 at home to Portsmouth this afternoon and following the final whistle, rumours that he had stormed out of the ground prior to kick-off began to circulate. But Curbishley, speaking in the post-match press conference denied all knowledge of such an incident.
"I left Bow out because I wanted to see Yossi," he said. "I couldn't fit him on the bench because Danny Gabbidon was back from injury and I needed cover there.
"I spoke to him at great length this morning; I don't know anything about that and I definitely saw him in the dressing room.
"He took it well and said he'd get on with it - and we'll see if he comes back this weekend because there's a suspension or two."
We'll have more from the press conference and a full match report for you later this evening.
