Speculation tonight is suggesting that West Ham United have agreed a deal to sign Chelsea's Shaun Wright-Phillips.

Tomorrow's tabloids are carrying a report claiming that the two clubs have agreed a fee worth in the region of £10m for the winger - a figure which eclipses United's previous record fee of £7.5m (paid for Dean Ashton in last January's transfer window).

Wright-Phillips joined Chelsea in a £21m switch from Manchester City in July 2005. However he has struggled to hold down a first-team place under Jose Mourinho and has made just 14 league starts in his 18 months with the Blues.

The 25-year-old has made eight appearances for England, scoring once.

* Meanwhile, The Times are carrying a story in tomorrow morning's edition claiming that Arsenal have rejected a bid United to take teenage striker Theo Walcott on loan for the remainder of the season.
