Green tops poll

Robert Green's match-winning performance against Arsenal last weekend has been voted the best in recent years by KUMB members.

West Ham United's 1-0 win over Arsenal was largely attributed to Green's excellence between the sticks - and a snap poll on KUMB has seen him top a poll of the best United goalkeeping performances.

Green took 56% of the vote, more than double the number of votes cast for second-placed Ludo Miklosko whose memorable performance in the May 1995 home fixture with Manchester United prevented the Reds from winning the league that season.

Miklosko will no doubt be happy to come second to such a great performance; talking to whufc.com today he called Green's effort against Arsenal 'absolutely amazing', adding:

"I think it is maybe the best I've ever seen from a goalkeeper. He was not just good on one thing, he was brilliant on everything: crosses, kicking, low shots, high shots."

Third place in our poll was Jimmy Walker for his performance in the 1-0 Carling Cup defeat against Chelsea in October 2004 when he saved a penalty from Frank Lampard.
