Full-back Paul Konchesky has signed a four-year deal with Fulham following a £2million switch.

The former Charlton defender - who signed for the Hammers two years ago upon promotion - has made the move from East to West in a deal that could ultimately be worth up to £3million, with clauses/appearances.

Konchesky was allowed to leave after it was made clear that he did not figure in Alan Curbishley's long-term plans. His departure leaves the Hammers with just one recognised left-back - George McCartney - in the entire squad; Wigan's Leighton Baines and Reading's Nickey Shorey still top of the list of replacements.

Like several members of the 05/06 squad, Konchesky enjoyed an excellent season, which culminated with a goal in the FA Cup Final at Cardiff.

But last season his form hit rock bottom, and he was left kicking his heels on the sidelines for the last few months of the campaign.
