West Ham United's first game of their Austrian tour ended in defeat this evening.

A 36th minute goal by Ladislav Onofrej was enough to earn a win for Czech side Sigma in Bad Radkersburg.

To add to Hammers woes, Julien Faubert was carried off after 35 minutes with an ankle injury.

On the plus side, Craig Bellamy finally made his Hammers debut when he replaced Dean Ashton on the hour mark.

Next up for the Hammers are Italian Serie A outfit Lazio, who Alan Curbishley's side play on Saturday night before returning home to Blighty the following day.

West Ham United: Wright (Walker 45), Spector (Ferdinand 60), Collins (Davenport 45), Upson (Gabbidon 45), McCartney (Dailly 45); Faubert (Collison 35), Parker (Noble 45), Bowyer (Mullins 45), Reid (Boa Morte 45); Ashton (Bellamy 60), Cole (Zamora 60).
