Today's Daily Mail is linking the Hammers with a move for Palermo's Mark Bresciano.
The Australian midfielder played for the Italians against United in the UEFA Cup last season, and is being linked with a £4m switch to East London.
Bresciano, 28, joined the Italians in 2006 having spent the previous four years with Parma.
He began his career in his home country before moving to Italy nine years ago after he was plucked from obscurity by then Serie B outfit Empoli.
Bresciano has made more than 40 appearances for the Socceroos, scoring 10 goals in the process.

''Good to see that the Mail is so environmentally conscious these days - this story is recycled from our adventure in Sicily no doubt given a Nani spin. One overpaid Aussie on his way over the hill at a time please ...''

''Mark Bresciano would be a huge signing for this club. He is the exact midfielder we need - creative, attacking, can beat players, change a game and he scores goals. Please sign him West Ham (along with Shorey and Bentley). I believe we can be top 6 contenders with these 3 signings.''
