More hypocrisy....

Sheffield United have been granted a temporary injnction preventing West Ham from bringing their long running grab for cash before the Court For Arbitration in Sport.

West Ham sought to have the strange decision of the arbitration panel reviewed by the Lausanne-based court, but, in a move apparently designed to avoid having the decision reviewed by somebody that might disagree with their decision, Sheffield United sought to deny any appeal against a decision described by one legal expert (coincidentally a Sheffield United supporter himself) as "the most bizarre legal decision seen in (his) 30 years of working in civil law".

On the brighter side, West Ham recently won the right to have Sheffield United's accounts examined by forensic accountants. Having claimed a breathtaking £30m as a result of their relegation, the northern club were, for some reason, reluctant to have details of the claim looked at in any detail.

However they have now been told that any compensation will depend on a comprehensive analysis of their claims - which have been likened in the accountancy world to a "holidaymaker claiming on their insurance for a lost Rolex after mislaying a Casio".

Meanwhile it would appear that McCabe's campaign for "justice" excludes Barnsley's Ian Hume. Defender Chris Morgan's thuggish assault on the striker remains unpunished by the FA and the attack appears to have been condoned by the standard bearers for fairness in football by virtue of the fact that Morgan - described as a "first class lad" by Blades' boss Kevin Blackwell- is not only still in a job, but was also part of the team that lost 3-1 to Wolverhampton Wanderers last night.

A match that took place whilst Hume was enjoying his second spell in hospital following injuries of which Blades assistant boss said "people have made a little bit more of than they should have" - a telling comment that gives a valuable insight into the minds behind the Championship club.

''West Ham were fined and that should have been that. What's the point of the FA handing out punishment if it will not stick or can be increased by some law?

So ultimately we may go under. You happy now Sheffield?''

''The simple facts of this appalling waste of time, energy and money are:

1.That during the season in question SUFC were just not good enough to stay in the division.

2. We have been punished for the Tevez affair by way of a circa £5m fine. The authorities choice of punishment, not ours. If they had acted earlier in the season, say February and deducted points we couldn't have argued too much. We all thought we were doomed anyway.

The recent Chris Morgan / Ian Hume incident just enforces the now totally rational hatred of the blades (an new Robert Banks book perhaps!)''

''If need be, West Ham will go all the way to the European Court of Justice before paying a single penny to McCabe. In the end it will come down to one very simple fact that many people conveniently forget. West Ham United did not determine the nature of its punishment - the Premier League did. If compensation is to be awarded, it won't come from West Ham.

As for Chris Morgan, he isn't a good lad. He is a criminal who should be behind bars, not merely banned from the football pitch. If Morgan thinks he got away with it, he didn't. This wasn't the first time that Hume has been physically abused by Morgan, the instance that resulted in the injury to Hume was only one of many instances of such behavior by Morgan in the match in question. The referee in question should be reprimanded and in due time he will be. And Hume is not the only player that Morgan has done this to. He has systematically assaulted Football League players over many years. He will be found out in a court of law and he is going to be on the wrong end of a very large class action law suit.

Just because he hasn't gone down just yet does not mean that he won't. He will go down, and when he does, it won't be pleasant. The same applies to McCabe.

Chris Morgan symbolizes everything that is wrong with professional football in the UK today. He is a disgrace and not fit to participate in civilized society. And to boot he is so mediocre a footballer than even through cheating he could not cut it in the Premiership.

Chris Morgan is a "wannabe." A failure. An also ran. A loser. And within the confines and restrictions of the law, and within the boundaries of the values of civilized human beings, he is going to be made to pay a very steep price. ''

''Is anyone else sick of hearing about this? If I was a Sheffield Utd fan I would just be embarrassed at how long they have kept this up. As a West Ham fan I'm just getting sick of hearing about it and debating it, it's obvious we're going to get screwed whatever happens.''
