As the January transfer window approaches, we take a look at the latest tittle tattle and gossip concerning West Ham United ...

The Times lead with a story this morning claiming that Lucas Neill has 'outraged' the club by 'demanding' an increased salary in order to stay. Neill, who earns anywhere between £30-70k p/w basic (depending upon who you believe) is out of contract in the summer and said to be looking for one last payday before returning home to Oz.

Elsewhere the Mail are running with a story suggesting that Harry Redknapp is set to raid the Boleyn Ground for Rob Green and Matthew Upson in a '£16million swoop'. The Spurs boss is thought to value Green at the £6million mark, and Upson at a generous £10million.

West Ham are unsurprisingly being linked with a move for an Arsenal youngster or two after it was revelaed by the Independent that Arsene Wenger is keen to send a number of his young stars out on loan for the second half of this season. Carlos Vela, Jack Wilshere, Gavin Hoyte and Kieran Gibbs have been mentioned as likely (temporary) departures in January.

Celtic are now favourites to bid first for Criag Bellamy, who yesterday's Mirror claimed was on his way out of Upton Park this January. Gordon Strachan, who had the diminutive striker at Celtic on loan some years ago is said to be willing to pay around £6million for the 29-year-old who has been a huge disappointment at West Ham since his £7million transfer from Liverpool two years ago.

Calum Davenport, Nigel Quashie, Jonathan Spector, Luis Boa Morte, Lee Bowyer and Hayden Mullins have all been cited by the Independent as player Gianfranco Zola is looking to sell in the January transfer window. Quashie, currently on loan at Birmingham is expected to tie up a permanent deal whilst Bowyer is said to be interesting a number of CHampionship clubs.
