West Ham today said goodbye to French central defender David Terrier, who leaves the club by 'mutual consent'.

Terrier, a former French Under-21 who originally signed for the Hammers in July on a 3 month contract with a view to a permanent signing, was plagued by injury throughout his stay.

Although he signed another 3 month extention to his contract in October, Terrier, who was highly rated by many Hammers fans, found it impossible to break into the first team.

He returns to his former club Metz after just one substitute appearance in the Premiership.
