Bogarde up for grabs

Barcelona defender Winston Bogarde has sent a 'come and get me' plea to interested clubs after it was made clear that his services are no longer required by Barcelona.

29 year old Bogarde was recently linked with the Hammers as part of a deal involving Rio Ferdinand and a possible player plus cash switch. However, Barcelona have since made it clear that they are not looking to take any new players to the Nou Camp in the near future.

But Dutch international Bogarde has been told by the Spanish giants that he is surplus to requirements, which will alert clubs around the country.

And the link to West Ham? Tenuous at best, but according to reports this afternoon he is reported to have made the following statement on the Barcelona website (although we couldn't find it anywhere):

"The facts remain the same as they've always been. I have one year left on my Barcelona contract and if clubs are interested in signing me, then they just have to give me a call.

"There has again been speculation linking me with a move to England. They say I might be a part of a deal that sees West Ham's Rio Ferdinand go to Barcelona, with me moving the other way.

"As I've said before, every club is of interest to me, but I have to have a good feeling before I commit to anything.

"I admit that West Ham are not a club I know too much about, but anything is possible and we'll have to wait and see what happens in the next few days."

So he's heard of us - but that's about it it appears. Don't watch this space ...
