Reports suggest that Kelvin Davis is on the verge of signing for United.

The Southampton 'keeper is available on a free transfer and had been linked with a move to Leeds United. However Sky Sports News has reported this evening that the 32 year-old custodian is undergoing a medical in advance of a move to the Boleyn.

The move will add an experienced keeper to the squad following the departure of Jimmy Walker and Jan Lastuvka from the club, which has left the squad with youngsters Peter Kurucz and Marek Stech as back-up to England 'keeper Robert Green.

More on this as it arrives....

''This isn't a great signing. A good shot stopper, but a league one keeper? Hardly jumping through hoops at the signing, I'd rather have Ludo on the bench!''
