A tough start to the new campaign awaits West Ham when they return to Premier League action in August.

The 2010/11 begins on Saturday, 14th August with a trip to Aston Villa and is followed by clashes with Bolton (h), Man Utd (a) and Chelsea (h).

The campaign ends in somewhat more genteel fashion nine months later on Sunday, 22nd May with a home clash against Sunderland, a game immediately preceeded by clashes with Blackburn (h) and Wigan (a) respectively.

With Portsmouth relegated last term, the Hammers instead face a slightly shorter trip to Fulham on Boxing Day this year. Some other important days for your calendar:

28th August: Man Utd (a)
25th September: Tottenham (h)
20th November: Liverpool (a)
5th January: Newcastle Utd (a)
15th January: Arsenal (h)
1st February: Blackpool (a)

This year the Carling Cup second round takes place on 25th August, whilst the third round of the FA Cup is scheduled for the weekend of 8th/9th January.

The Final has once again been moved ahead of the end of the league campaign, that being scheduled for Saturday, 14th May.
