Gold leaves hospital

David Gold is recuperating at home having been released from hospital.

The 74-year-old co-chairman was admitted ten days ago and diagnosed as suffering from cholangitis - an infection of the common bile duct - and septicaemia (blood poisoning).

Having spent a week in hospital, Gold was finally given the all-clear to return home - from where he saw West Ham thrash Stoke 3-0 this afternoon, a result that lifts the Hammers out of the bottom three.

Although he is thought to have seen off the worst, Gold still requires surgery; should he continue to recover, that is likely to happen within the next few days.

KUMB.com would like to wish Mr Gold a continued speedy recovery on behalf of all our readers.
