Pablo Barrera has finally clinched a move to Spain following months of speculation.
The Mexican winger arrived at West Ham with huge promise on the back of a successful 2010 World Cup.
However his time in England has proved to be a disaster, with the 24-year-old failing to show any signs of repeating the form that persuaded United to pay his former club UNAM £4million for his services last year.
Barrera will join Spanish club Real Zaragoza, who played West Ham at the Boleyn Ground last month in a pre-season friendly (the Hammers winning 2-0).
Although news of his departure has since been confirmed by West Ham United, the game was given away earlier today when a picture was posted by West Ham's number 12 on his Twitter feed showing him in the Spanish city. A later Tweet simply stated "On the road to Zaragoza".
The deal is said to be a season-long loan with an option to make the deal permanent, should Barrera's time with Blanquillos prove to be a success.
In other transfer news, Lee Clayton of the Daily Mail reports that Scott Parker is close to sealing a move to Tottenham.
The deal is said to be cash up front plus additional bonus payments and players, presumably on loan.
Barrera at West Ham: stats
2010/11: Played 21 (PL14, CC4, FAC3), Starts 13, Sub 8, Goals 0.
2011/12: Played 2 (NPC1, CC1), Starts 1, Sub 1, Goals 0.

''I hope to hell that the 'Scotty to Tottenham' story is junk. With all the supposed furore about the Olympic Stadium going on, why are we even CONSIDERING such?! Seriously? Grow some, Gollivan!''

''There should be no dealing with that lot from north London and I can't believe there will be. They have no players we would want that they would let us have anyways, so?!''

''If Spurs want Parker it should be £7-8million, cash only - so Sam can buy who he wants. All we will get if it's a + player is another cast-off like Keane. I am fed up with with Spurs ripping us off ever since the Peters/Greaves deal.''

''I doubt very much we'd get someone like Kranjcar, plenty of other Premier League clubs would take him in an instant. More like a fringe player or two from Spurs would come in the opposite direction, like Danny Rose; Andros Townsend; Jake Livermore; Harry Kane. Maybe Jenas or Bentley are the only other ones who may drop down?''

''Barrera's loan gets him off the wage bill but as he's unlikely to return to our shores why didn't we attempt to cash in now and reinvest? It might have been the financial buffer to allow us to make a serious bid for Gradel.
As for a Tottenham player + cash deal, watch us bring in another body to fill a position we've already got cover for. I'd take Kranjcar but someone of that ilk just aint gonna happen. We must take a punt on Baldock however, he might just be the person we need to play off a target man.''
