James Tomkins has been named Player of the Month for August by both KUMB.com's writers and readers.
The 22-year-old centre-half, who excelled in the heart of defence throughout the month took two-thirds of all votes in the readers poll, conducted on the KUMB.com Forum.
Tomkins also impressed KUMB's match reporters sufficiently to top August's average match rating table with an impressive score of 8.00 to become the first winner of the 2011/12 season.
The readers' top three was completed by Winston Reid (eight per cent of total vote) and Carlton Cole (six per cent), whilst our match reporters gave the runner-up spot to Rob Green (average rating of 7.60) and third place to New Zealander Reid (7.33).
