West Ham have beaten their previous record haul of away league wins in a season after securing a 4-0 win against Barnsley at Oakwell this afternoon.

Sam Allardyce's side have now won 12 times away from the Boleyn Ground this term - a figure that beats the 11 away wins achieved in the 1922/23 and 1957/58 seasons, both of which ended with the Hammers being promoted to the top flight.

Today's win, secured through goals from Kevin Nolan, Nicky Maynard, Mark Noble and Ricardo Vaz Te means that the Hammers have now taken 41 points away from home this season - some seven points MORE than they have accrued from matches at Upton Park.

With games at Bristol City and Leicester still to come, Sam Allardyce's squad could still achieve an amazing 14 away wins this season - yet incredibly, that still might now be enough to see them finish in the automatic promotion places come the end of the season.
