New home kit revealed

West Ham United have released the new home kit for the 2012/13 season - to a generally favourable response.

The new offering, which features a traditional claret body with sky blue arms was released earlier this morning and can be purchased from the club's online store for £44.95 for adults or £34.99 for juniors (click on the image below to be taken there).

Causing slightly more controversy however is the introduction of claret socks instead of the club's traditional white stockings for the home kick, which has left one or two purists up in arms today.

''I have just read the article about the new kit on the official club site and with an oriental style collar like that surely it should be described as 'Korean' (as in Kimchi, Mr Park and the axle of evil etc) and not 'corean' - or I am missing something?''

''The shirt looks bland to me, prefer the away shirt. In practical terms, I think the neckline will be annoying to wear, bet some of the players do a Dicks and rip it a bit.''
