The Chelsea forums went into meltdown after their team were comprehensively outplayed by West Ham United at the Boleyn Ground yesterday afternoon. Sit back and enjoy the pick of their supporters' comments in a special bumper edition of the OV...

"Very disappointing - doesn't even feel like a ''loss" as for 70-75 mins I thought we played well. GOT to score the second in games like this... again. Their first goal was a blatant foul but Atkinson was so inconsistent with what he deemed pushes (or not) in the box and his yellow for Cech's handball was very lenient so can't really complain. Physically we struggled with aerial balls in the second half big time and I don't think our substitutions worked at all."

"Should've killed it in the first half. West Ham helped back into it by a dodgy decision, but they were far superior for the entire second half. West Ham scored three goals today against a good team that defended well for most of the game. They didn't need silky football or £25million superstars like Oscar, Mata or Hazard. Football is a simple game and we've been guilty of over-complicating it recently."
- Zianfranco Gola

"In the battle of the managerial fatmen, it was fatman A who emerged triumphant. During the first half, the team managed by fatman B were almost entirely dominant, but failed to capitalise on that dominance. At half time, fatman A made changes in personnel and upped the tempo, to which fatman B had no answer, conceding the initiative to the team managed by fatman A, and it was no surprise at all when the equaliser came. Still fatman B failed to respond and things went back from bad to worse; the home side taking the lead, and then cementing that lead to secure the three points. This is a result which shows all too clearly exactly why fatman B was out of work of so long."

"Very disappointed with the defence; John Terry can't come back soon enough. Very disappointed with the midfield; we need a more dynamic midfielder to replace Mikel. Very disappointed with Torres; we need to replace him with a striker who isn't totally crap. Credit to West Ham; they were a danger throughout, defended stoutly and pressed very well from front to back. Deserved winners although their equaliser looked a fairly clear foul but I don't blame Atkinson for not giving it."

"The referee had a shocker, no way should West Ham's first goal have been allowed to stand. Since when is climbing on the defenders back considered legal play? After that joke goal, we dominated with Mata hitting the post but yet again we got no luck at all."
- TorresTheBlue

"We totally dominated the first half despite looking frighteningly shonky at times. 1-0 is never enough, even against West Ham. Let's not overlook the fact that the first half display from West Ham was possibly the worst half of football played by any team since the inception of the EPL and we still couldn't score more than once. We'll keep soldiering on like we do; some people are saying they want their Chelsea back, I think we've got it back alright. I won't be totally relaxed before we're safe from relegation."
- Mark Kelly

"First half ok, should have put the game to bed then but missed too many chances. In the second half West Ham reverted to type and launched the ball long at every opportunity. Gary Cahill just could not handle Carlton Cole - yes, Carlton f%&*ing Cole; what a shambles. I dont blame FSW for this defeat, it was down to the players. Torres was owned by Collins, it's now time to get rid."

"It looked like we were in full control the first half, other than the last minute or so where they got the free kick and corner. Second half it looked like they came out as a different side and immediately the game changed. Although we rode that storm for the first 15 minutes of second half once they got the equaliser I had a feeling we would lose. It's not all as negative as some are making out, a couple of things go our way today it would have been a win and three points. One last thing, the West Ham support was rubbish today, hardly a sound until they scored their goal mid way through the second half. Fair play to Chels fans, we were good as always."

"I didn't think I'd ever see the day a Chelsea manager got comfortably outsmarted by Sam f$%&ing Allardyce. Aren't we always being told Benitez's cockishness is made up for with his tactical nous? I don't see any tactical nous, just a clueless romantic standing still. He doesn't even look cool like Robbie or AVB."
- Mike Mitchell

"Football really is a game of two halves! First half - comfortable in possession, recycling the loose ball well, creating chances and defending well. Second half - whole team seems to have devolved in to a Sunday league outfit. Seriously, WTF?! 1-0 up at half time, any idiot knows that they're going to come out in the second half and have a go at us. Yet, we act surprised when they do! West Ham are a seriously poor team, but all they had to do was get in our faces and we crumble like biscuits. Benitez is a fool in a fat-suit. Typical of him to try and settle for the 1-0 with half the match to play. We had them on the ropes and instead we just evaporated into thin air!"
- It_Dont_Mata

"We actually played well first half and should have been out of sight by half time, but the second was abysmal from just about everyone. FSW [Benitez] had no answer for Allardyce's changes and our players couldn't match the West Ham players' desire and determination to win that game. Totally gutless."
- Englishman

"It was entirely Benitez's fault that we lost today. We bossed the first half, should have scored more. I can't blame Benitez for failing to add to the scoreline but I can blame him for his failure to respond to Allardyce's half time changes. From the start of the second half West Ham were a different side, and yet Benitez chose to employ the exact same approach as against the first half incarnation of West Ham. And please don't blame the fans either. This is a manager who was foisted on the supporters ."
- Tommy Docherty

"As much as I would like to pin that on Benitez I can’t. The attitude of the players in the second half was entirely to blame for that defeat. That was surrendering on a level that would make France feel courageous. West Ham thoroughly deserved all three points from the moment they came out in the second half determined to turn round a one goal deficit."
- loz

"What a sad sorry state of a club we have become. We blame Kenyon, we blame Gourly and Buck, when we all know deep down they are only protecting their own backs. Our owner is Satan, surely. Some argue we sold our soul to the devil when he came here, he gave us the prizes we wanted.... Now we're paying our dues in the 7th realm of Hell. What a mess. A disgusting mess. We are hated by the masses and justifiably so, if I wasnt a fan I would hate our club too. So sickeningly heartless and its becoming more soulless by the weeks. WE WANT OUR CHELSEA BACK. I'll not be spending my hard earned money coming back to Stamford Bridge this season whilst this farce is going on."
- Zola

"The Chelsea I grew up with won the FA Cup against Leeds. Thereafter there were some pretty desperate days. If you went to the Bridge in the 80s and complained about having just won the European Cup and being third in the league I think you would have a job getting out of the place in one piece. It's all relative honestly."
