West Ham linked with Cameroon defender

West Ham are being linked with a move for Cameroon international GaŽtan Bong.

The 24-year-old left back, who currently plays for Valenciennes in Ligue 1 has already held talks with representatives of West Ham, according to reports in France tonight with view to a permanent move.

Bong started his pro career in France with Metz in 2006 before being loaned out to Ligue 2 side ours for the 2008/09 season. Upon his return to Les Grenats the defender was snapped up by Valenciennes with whom he has spent the last three years.

The 6' defender, who was born in Sakbayeme, Cameroon has made 10 appearances for his country, and is also said to have interested Liverpool. West Ham are also interested in signing Blackburn's Martin Olsson, for whom they are understood to have made a concrete bid.
