Carlton Cole may be about to re-sign for West Ham - but may not be fully match fit for up to TWO MONTHS.
The former England international underwent a medical at West Ham yesterday ahead of a short-term contract that would see Cole reunite with his former team mates until the next transfer window in January.However KUMB understands that the 29-year-old has barely trained since leaving the Club at the end of last season - and will therefore require several weeks' training in order to regain match fitness.
This is believed to have come as a surprise to the staff at West Ham, who were under the impression that Cole has been maintaining his match fitness privately - when in truth, the former Chelsea striker has done very little work in the gym, preferring instead to spend the summer enjoying his new-found freedom.
Rumours that Cole had been training with Tottenham are also said to be wide of the mark.
