West Ham Utd v Man City: half time report

West Ham find themselves a goal behind at the break after a disappointing opening 45 minutes at the Boleyn Ground.

Sam Allardyce's side go into the interval with a narrow deficit, although it could have been much worse had City not left their shooting boots at home.

Defensively sound against Tottenham last weekend, the Hammers - who started in the same 4-6-0 formation they used at White Hart Lane - have been all over the place in the first half with several players making a number of key, unenforced errors.

The only goal of the opening half arrived on the quarter-hour mark as West Ham were caught napping. A clever through ball left Aguero one-on-one with Jussi Jaaskelainen and the in-form striker passed the ball into the corner of the net.

Conversely West Ham haver flattered to deceive in front of goal although a number of half chances were created, giving the Hammers hope at least for the second half.

We'll have more for you at the final whistle...
