A decent game for a 0-0? Enjoy the responses from Jacks fans in this week's OV...

"Not a pleasant game to watch and now time that Laudrup sorted it out. On the plus side we have 11 points from 9 games, so we are collecting points, albeit in very poor fashion. Shame we couldn't have broken the deadlock as West Ham would have crumbled then, but things could be worse lads: you could be West Ham supporters, watching that crap week in week out!"

"We didn't get the result, but we did well apart from the final ball. A much more composed and assured performance today. The BBC report saying West Ham controlled the match is utter sh*te. They made a good game of it, but there was only one team putting their foot on the ball and dictating the tempo. West Ham were very strong defensively, so not sure why people were expecting us to steamroller them."

"They deployed the same tactics against Man City. It's also not quite the same as Spain when they go strikerless as they always bring their game on to the opposition. Allardyce is, as always, anti-football. West Ham, with their traditions, should boot him out, no wonder they were so quiet all game watching that drudge. That free kick that Rat took, where he had to keep moving it to the right place? He was the only player back for them and he whacked it 80 yards into the box. It's a pants way to play the game but with all those bodies behind the ball, and big units to boot, its really hard to break them down."

"So they still put six in midfield. They did the same against Spurs and won 3-0, so you can't blame Allardyce for trying. I agree though that it's boring to watch. It's got them results so far and they could easily have beaten us yesterday on the amount of chances they had from corners in the first half."

"Don't even know where to start today. Total frustration yet again and the referee not clamping down on any time wasting which is pretty much all West Ham came to do, by the look of it. Four times he warned their 'keeper. Book him then! More worrying is how bloody bored I'm getting game after game; where has all our creativity and slick one-touch passing, that used to get us in behind teams, gone? If everyone comes to play for a draw we are gonna struggle."
- KingBony

"Today, it's a job well done against a better team than the one we beat 3-0 last season. So it was a positive, although we should have had a penalty. We're Swansea anyway and hardly get them; I say "hardly" because we got our first one in like 56 games last week."

"Allardyce's team are so big and strong, it really was a hard battle out there yesterday, us fans would do well to remember that. Even though we could smell the three points, huge teams like that are not ever going to bend over and give them to us. The Europa League is having an affect here, we wouldn't change it for the world, but for me, that's the main area where our involvement is costing us."

"Some people just do not appreciate the level we are playing at these days. I enjoyed the game today, West Ham obviously came for a point and packed their midfield with five players making it difficult for us to break them down. Their only other threat came from set pieces and it nearly paid off for them. It was a game that could have gone either way and it kept me on the edge of my seat until the final whistle. A draw a fair result against a very powerful West Ham side."

"I'm going to stick my neck out here. Whatever people say about Big Sam he plays the percentage game well, and I thought some of West Ham's counter-attacking stuff was good. I'll also speculate that the ridiculous flogging our players had in pre season is now starting to catch up with them, given that we lack tempo."

"Far from bleating about how woeful Bony is (as some are), I'm guessing that he's sorry he ever came here. For a so-called footballing team, our chance creation is absolutely pathetic. With only 33 per cent of the play, West Ham managed to create 15 shots to our 10. That is an astounding condemnation of the sheer ineptitude of our entire midfield. In my book, teams have worked us out and we are nothing like as effective as we used to be."

"I am trying to get some positives out of that match but I am struggling. The harsh reality is that Big Sam outmanouvered Sir Mike. When I saw the West Ham 4-6-0 formation I thought it was going to be a sterile game but fair play to the Hammers, they get the ball into the box at every opportunity (as Sam's teams always do) and our goal led a charmed life, especially in the first half with Vorm flapping on several occasions. The only other positive I can find is that we are not the first to be "West Hammered" this season. A look at their five away fixtures shows we are in good company."
