Hammers ignored - again

The latest England squad has just been announced - and once again, there are no places for any Hammers.

Midfielders Mark Noble and Ravel Morrison were widely tipped to be involved with Roy Hodgson's squad for the first time ever - with the in-form James Tomkins also considered to be an outside bet.

However the England manager, who has seen plenty of the young Hammers in recent weeks has yet again failed to include a single one of Sam Allardyce's players in his squad for their upcoming friendly with Chile.

Tomkins has been overlooked in favour of more established defenders such as Gary Cahill, Phil Jagielka and Chris Smalling.

However Noble and Morrison - both of whom have been in excellent form of late - will feel slightly more aggrieved to have been black-balled given that the likes of Ross Barkley, Tom Cleverley and Adam Lallana have been included.

One player who is included in the full squad is Tottenham Jermain Defoe, who was linked with a move back to West Ham this week.

* Two other Hammers have made their respective international squads. Joey O'Brien has been selected for the Republic of Ireland, who face friendlies against Latvia and Poland whilst Mo Diame is in the Senegal squad for the second leg of their World Cup play-off against Ivory Coast next weekend.
