Winston Reid has revealed that he could be out of action until the New Year.

The reigning KUMB.com Player of the Year suffered a Hammer blow at the weekend after scans revealed that the injury he sustained during training last week may keep him out of action until the New Year.

Reid, speaking to Live Sport Radio at the weekend revealed how the injury happened. "I was at training and I slipped. I got stuck between a player's leg and twisted my ankle," he said.

"I went back into the physio room afterwards and they tested me a couple of times but as a player you know when something's not right. So I had the scans and unfortunately they pretty much confirmed that there was a problem.

I then had another scan to see how bad the injury was and unfortunately it's pretty serious. It was a freak accident, slipping and getting my leg caught under another player - but these things happen.

"Unfortunately it happen in training and you can perhaps accept it more if it happens in a game. For me personally it's one of the worst things that can happen. It couldn't have happened at a worse time, but life goes on."
