Ravel Morrison has been bailed until January after he entered not guilty pleas to a string of charges relating to an incident that occurred in Manchester in July.

The 21-year-old midfielder denied charges relating to assault and actual bodily harm at a preliminary hearing at Manchester Crown Court on Thursday.

And he was ordered to return for trial early 2015, with a provisional trial date of 26 January set by Judge David Stockdale QC during the short hearing.

Conditional to the bail agreement is that the England under 21 international refrains from returning to Manchester unless on club duty or under order of the court.

Morrison, who made his first appearance of the season in the Capital One Cup penalty shoot-out defeat to Sheffield United on Tuesday was arrested on 27 July and remanded in custody for a week. However he was released on bail just four days later.
