Slaven Bilic has spoken with some bemusement at the constant speculation regarding the former Croatia manager and Sam Allardyce's position.

Bilic has long been cited as a potential replacement for the present incumbent, who has hit the ground running this season with West Ham currently sitting eighth in the Premier League after five league games.

However the 46-year-old former central defender, who walked out on West Ham in 1997 in order to join Everton admitted that he had no interest in the role, even if it did become available.

"I really do not know why I'm being linked with them," he told Sportske Novosti. "I guess rumours like that are just part of this sport.

"I played there, now I'm a manager and it is not the first time that people are talking about me. They did that even when I was the Croatia manager.

"But the reality is that I'm just thinking about Besiktas and the work I'm doing there. I'm spending all my energy for Besiktas."

Bilic also claimed he has been approached regarding a managerial role in England SEVEN times in the past four years - all of which had been rejected.
