Sam Allardyce admits that leading goalscorer Diafra Sakho is an injury concern ahead of next weekend's trip to Stoke City.

The 24-year-old striker, who prior to this season had never played top flight football scored his seventh goal in as many starts today when he grabbed the second in West Ham's 2-1 win over reigning champions Manchester City at the Boleyn.

However Allardyce admitted after the game that Sakho is a major worry ahead of next week's trip to the Potteries after damaging a shoulder in the second half today.

"My big worry is that my leading goalscorer today came off with a shoulder problem at the end," he said. "I sincerely hope that damage is not severe and he can recover very quickly.

"When you've got someone who scores six in six you can ill-afford to lose them at any stage and if we're going to lose him, that'll be a big blow.

"Saying that, everybody who stepped up to the plate today, with the injuries that we have, has gone out and got a result, gone out and given a great performance so we're in a very good frame of mind and we're in a good mood."
