Diego Poyet has joined Huddersfield Town on a youth loan until the beginning of December.

The 19-year-old former Charlton midfielder joined West Ham in the summer for a nominal fee after his contract at the Valley expired.

However having featured in just three matches so far this season - against Crystal Palace, Sheffield United and Manchester United - Sam Allardyce has allowed the youngster to join Huddersfield in order to gain some much-needed match experience.

Poyet, the son of current Sunderland manager Gus will remain at the John Smith's Stadium until 6 December and is eligible to feature in tomorrow’s Championship clash with Fulham at Craven Cottage.

The Terriers are currently managed by former Hammer Chris Powell, Poyet's previous boss at Charlton.
