Winston Reid unaffected by contract talks

Winston Reid says that contract talks are not top of agenda - but insisted that he'll continue to give everything for the club whilst he remains here.

The Kiwi centre half is out of contract at the end of this season and almost certainly set to leave West Ham on a free transfer in June.

Despite a fresh new offer remaining on the table from the club, Reid is in no hurry to sign - but he insists it's not something that will impact upon his contribution to the team.

"It doesn't really affect me," he told the Recorder's Dave Evans. "It's just one of those things that has been going on in the background.

"I know where I am and just get on with it and I have always given 100 per cent for this club for as long as I have been here and I will continue to do that. It is not something that bothers me, it is just part of footballer and it is no big drama."

The win over Leicester - in which Reid once again played a key role - ensures West Ham remain in the top four at Christmas for the first time in nearly 30 years. However Reid insists that there is more to come from Big Sam's side.

"That was not the best we have played this season," he added. "But winning when you are not playing well is a sign of a good team."
