Rumours that West Ham have had to bids rejected for Shrewsbury midfielder Ryan Woods have re-appeared this morning.

Pete O'Rourke of SkySports and the Daily Mail's Sami Mokbel tweeted this morning that West Ham have had two bids for the highly-rated youngster rejected. However the story appears to be a re-hash of a speculative piece published by the Mail last week.

21-year-old Woods - known by Blues fans as "the Ginger Pirlo" - is a central midfielder by trade but can play across midfield and also in defence. He has spent his entire career at New Meadow, having progressed from Town's youth set-up.

The Shropshire Star recently praised Woods for his "fantastic form" and "accurate passing and ability to find space".
