West Ham managerial target Jurgen Klopp has bid farewell to current club Dortmund after seven years in the job.

The 47-year-old German is now one of the hottest properties in football having left the club with whom he made his name by winning the Bundesliga twice and reaching a Champions League Final.

Last night a video featuring Klopp delivering a farewell message to Dortmund was released via the web. In it, he thanked the fans for their support during the last seven years.

"I've had great fun here and many thanks for everything," he said. "We'll see each other again, we definitely will. I've enjoyed every second I've been here, not only here in the stadium but in general with you, and I thank you from the bottom of my heart."

Klopp, linked with West Ham for some considerable time had looked set for Real Madrid although his chances of landing that particular role have lengthened in recent days. He remains one of the West Ham Board's main candidates to replace the outgoing Allardyce.
