Marseille forward Dimitri Payet is on the verge of sealing an £11million move to West Ham, according to the player's agent.
Jacques-Olivier Auguste revealed tonight that a deal that would take his client to the Premier League was close to being completed - although the 28-year-old is yet to sign on the dotted line."It's almost done, but not 100 per cent," Auguste told Eurosport, before adding: "We are still a little hopeful that Marseille can make something happen on their end."
That final comment tends to indicate that Payet and his team are hoping for L'OM to make the 15 times-capped French international a fresh offer which would keep him at the Stade Vélodrome.
However West Ham are understood to have already agreed a deal worth a shade under £11million for Payet, who has been offered a four-year contract worth £60,000 per week (David Hytner, Guardian).
Payet, who has spent the last two seasons at Marseille is expected to arrive in London tomorrow morning (via Mauritius) for a medical.
