The Football Association have rescinded the red card shown to Mark Noble at Liverpool on Saturday - only to hit West Ham with a charge of failing to control their players in the aftermath of his dismissal.
Whilst Noble was rightfully exonerated for being wrongly dismissed by referee Kevin Friend, the FA have somehow seen fit to charge West Ham's players for remonstrating with the match official immediately after his incorrect decision."Following an Independent Regulatory Commission hearing, West Ham United’s claim of wrongful dismissal in relation to Mark Noble has been successful," read a statement published on the FA's website.
"The player was sent off for serious foul play during the game against Liverpool on 29 August 2015. His three-match suspension has, therefore, been withdrawn with immediate effect.
"In relation to the behaviour of the West Ham United players following Mr Noble’s dismissal, the club has been charged for failing to ensure its players conducted themselves in an orderly fashion."
The Hammers have been given until 6pm on September 7th to respond to the ludicrous charge, which follows United's 3-0 thrashing of Liverpool at Anfield in which Noble scored the second goal.
