Andy Carroll in contention to face former club

Perma-crock Andy Carroll is set to return to West Ham United's match day squad on Monday week in order to face former club Newcastle United.
The Hammers number nine, who has made just 27 Premier League starts since becoming the club's record signing more than two years ago is set to make the bench - at least - when the Magpies visit the Boleyn Ground.The news was hinted at by co-Chairman David Gold in response to a fan's question via Twitter.

DG also revealed that Enner Valencia, who was still in plaster a week ago is seto make his return sometime in October, as previously planned.

West Ham ar scheduled to face Newcastle United at the Boleyn Ground on Monday, 14th September.
