Ex Hammer backs Ibra move

Ian Wright believes West Ham would be a perfect fit for Swedish superstar Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

Representatives of the The 34-year-old striker have been in contact with West Ham in recent weeks regarding a potential move. And Wright, who came to West Ham at the age of 35 back in 1998 believes the Swedish international could be the next Paolo Di Canio.

"I think it would be great for a player of that calibre," Wright told The Sun. "Zlatan could go to West Ham and revolutionise it, with a blast like Di Canio gave them.

"They love that kind of player. With Payet and the other players around him, a player like Zlatan could really blast West Ham up to that next level.

"West Ham are in London, they’re moving to the Olympic Stadium and if they are challenging for the top four they will be an attractive club to go to.

"Could you imagine the younger players being able to see someone like Zlatan at the club? It’d be better for him to go to West Ham than any of the top four."
