Jahmal Hector-Ingram has signed his first professional contract with West Ham United.
The 17-year-old forward - who has been involved with the club since he was just 8 - has agreed a new three-year contract that will kick in on his 18th birthday this coming November."It feels amazing, it really does," he told West Ham's website. "It's been a dream from a young age to get a contract at this club and I'm very proud that I've managed to accomplish one of my dreams.
"The next dream is me playing in the first team. However, I'm not getting too excited; I know I have to work even harder! This is only the start.
"My mum and my nan, especially, have been my inspiration and also the reason I've got so far. I'm very grateful. My family as a whole is very happy at this moment in time!"
Having began the season with the under 18s, Hector-Ingram went on to make a number of appearances for Terry Westley's Development Squad - including the first leg of the Premier League Cup against Hull City, which West Ham eventually won on penalties.
