Co-owner David Gold has offered his verdict on news that newly-promoted Middlesbrough are seeking to lure Michail Antonio away from the Olympic Stadium.
It was leaked yesterday that 'Boro, who achieved automatic promotion to the top flight having finished runners-up in last season's Championship would be prepared to pay around £8million for the former Forest winger. Most Hammers fans reacted to the news with incredulity, given that United paid £7million for Antonio last September - since when he has proved to be an overwhelming success, going on to finish runner-up to Dimitri Payet in KUMB's Player of the Year award.
And Gold continued in a similar vein when he left no doubt as to the club's view on potentially parting with one of their brightest prospects in a tweet posted on Wednesday morning!
