Young West Ham supporter Jack Howard, who had been receiving treatment for cancer in the US, has passed away.

The 12-year-old's family confirmed the sad news via Twitter this morning, bringing to an end Jack's four-year battle against the disease.

Jack, who was visited by West Ham players such as Dimi Payet and Aaron Cresswell during his latest stay in hospital was suffering from a Wilms tumor, a kidney-related cancer that is mostly found in children.

Kind-hearted friends and West Ham fans had pitched in to raise the funds necessary to send Jack to the States in order to undergo pioneering treatment back in September.

The fund currently stands at an astonishing £177,785.

The thoughts of everyone at KUMB.com are with Jack's family at this difficult time.
