Three in, three out

Co-chairman David Sullivan has revealed that he hopes to sign three players during the forthcoming January transfer window.

The 67-year-old told Sky Sports that up to three players could also leave during the window, which opens on New Year's Day. "There is no expectation about what we might do, only hope," he said.

"Maybe three players out and three players in, but that is only the hope. In reality, your hopes don't always come true, and we could end up doing no business at all."

And Sullivan also revealed that for the second successive transfer window, a striker will be the most keenly-sought player.

"We are always looking for players who could improve any area of the squad but, like almost every club, we are looking for another striker," he confirmed.

"Diafra Sakho has this week had an operation which will keep him out for a considerable period of time."

Sullivan also revealed he was "very confident" that Dimitri Payet would still be a West Ham player come the end of the window, despite being linked with a string of clubs from across Europe in recent weeks and days.
