West Ham's co-chairman David Sullivan says the club have not bid £20million for Celtic forward Moussa Dembele.

Following the revelation - made by the club's own gossip column on whufc.com - that a £20million bid had been made for a "a player in Scotland", it was thought that the target was Celtic's 20-year-old talent Dembele.

However Sullivan confirmed that Dembele was not the individual involved when he told the Telegraph's Jason Burt: "We have not bid for this player and he’s not a target of ours".

According to a KUMB source, the player in question is likely to be Scottish international Robert Snodgrass, the Hull City winger who is said to be unhappy with life at the KC Stadium.

Linked with a move to West Ham previously, the 29-year-old Glasgow-born international began his career with Livingstone north of the border before joining Championship side Leeds Utd in 2008.

Four years later he moved to Norwich City where he spent two season before making his most recent move, to Hull in a deal worth around £6million.
